Random Acts of Kindness

While on Facebook today, I saw someone's post in regard to a printable Random Acts of Christmas Kindness advent calender.  It made me think.  What about a 365 days a year Random Acts of Kindness calender.  Maybe a desk one so that you can easily see it?  Or, perhaps, an app for one? 

Then I thought that it was sad that we'd even need one.  What ever happened to doing a kind act for someone without needing to be told?  When did our society become so self-centered that we'd need an app or calender to tell us to be nice to one another? 

I know that I try to do nice things for others.  It may not be daily but it isn't non-existent either. 

So now I know what my New Year's resolution will be.  I will be making my own RAK calender for next year.  I don't know if I will always do it daily, but I know that I am going to try to improve my own consistency of doling them out.

I am thinking of doing a doggy one also.

Religion - Believe It or Not

I was not born believing in God.  On the other hand, I also was not born disbelieving in him either.  I was a clean slate that knew nothing of religion or a higher power.  I just was.  A month after my birth I became a Roman Catholic.  It was not my choice as I was only a month old.  This was the choice of my parents.  A choice that had been forced on them by their parents and so on back to wherever my line started.  Except, I became the end of the line.  I stepped outside of religion and made my own choice in what I believed.  God did not win.  Or, at least then, I believed he didn’t.  Now, I am not so sure.
